Common reasons people come for Rolfing®
What is Rolfing®?
Rolfing® Structural Integration is a form of hands-on bodywork that works with the body’s connective tissue (fascia) to release tension patterns and improve alignment. By helping the body organize itself more efficiently with gravity, many people experience less pain, better posture, and freer movement.
Over time, our bodies adapt to injuries, stress, and repetitive patterns. These adaptations can create tension and discomfort. Rolfing® works to release these patterns and help the body return to a more balanced and natural state.
“When a body is in pain or discomfort, whether physical or emotional, the unconscious response is to tighten and shorten in an effort to ‘get away’ from the pain. Our work focuses on lengthening and balancing the body so the tightened tissue has somewhere to go after the release.”
